This past April, I was honored enough to give a speech on Music of the Ottoman Empire at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research in Missoula, Montana. It was a pretty epic conference; with 39 students from my college and several thousand overall.
Missoula is a beautiful college town, and the Uni of Montana was an excellent host. I've learned a bunch about microtonal music doing this project and now hope to write some modern Turkish and Arabic music for the www.theaudioportal.com and newgrounds.com audio portal audiences :D
